Juscom ISO/TS 16949:2002 Process

If your company requires quality and reliability then demand ISO/TS 16949 processes!

High quality comes only from strict processes and a quality culture. For illustration, consider the regimen Juscom adheres to from the time it receives drawings or samples:
  1. Receipt of customer drawings, prototypes or samples
  2. Juscom sends own drawing to customer for confirmation and approval
  3. Engineering samples fabricated and sent to customer for approval
  4. Production part approval process (PPAP) begins:
    1. Production flow chart drawn
    2. Process failure mode effects analysis (PFEMA) conducted
    3. Production quality control plan (CP) written
    4. Work instructions written
    5. Pilot production begins, and samples drawn for analysis and PPAP submission
    6. PPAP package sent to customer for approval
  5. Volume production begins on receipt of customer approval

Juscom was ISO/TS 16949:2002 certified in 2008. We are a Tier 1, 2 or 3 vendor, depending on the specific product and customer in question.

Since ISO 9001:2000 is a subset of ISO/TS 16949:2002, Juscom is therefore also ISO 9001:2000 certified.

Not in the Automotive Industry?

Even non-automotive customers reap benefits from using ISO/TS 16949 certified manufacturers like Juscom. The ISO 9001 certification allows many crucial steps of the design-to-manufacturing-to-ship process to be undocumented, or even omitted. Feedback loops, while suggested, are not mandatory. The end result is that in-process variability and consequential batch-to-batch inconsistency increases greatly. Overall quality and reliability drops.

Poor quality costs more in the long run. As an example, failure to make good solder joints or terminal crimps can result in:
  • Costly field failures and field repairs
  • Costly product recalls or returns
  • Increased warranty provisioning costs
  • Disgruntled customers
  • Loss of customers
  • Loss of reputation

Juscom is a member of the IPC, and works to the IPC/WHMA-A-620 standard. Our internal quality goals call for Class 3 production levels.
In the standard, "Class 3" refers to "High Performance Electronic Products." That is:

"Includes products where continued performance or performance-on-demand is critical, equipment downtime cannot be tolerated, end-use environment may be uncommonly harsh, and the equipment must function when required, such as life support systems and other critical systems."
